There are so many uniquely wonderful parts of being human that are sometimes obscured by the uniquely difficult parts. With love and care comes anxiety; with friendship and community comes comparison. April believes that therapy isn't about eliminating these challenges, but about learning to navigate them while still embracing the joys of life.
April specializes in helping individuals navigate challenges related to people-pleasing, perfectionism, and interpersonal relationships. She works with clients who find themselves caught in patterns of prioritizing others' needs above their own, setting impossibly high standards for themselves, or struggling to establish healthy boundaries in their relationships.
April also has particular expertise in working with adults with ADHD. Being diagnosed with ADHD herself, April understands how executive functioning differences can impact self-perception, relationships, and daily functioning. She offers strategies that honor neurodiversity while addressing the practical challenges her clients face.
Graduating from Grand Valley State University in 2022, April received her Master in Social Work. Since then, she has personalized her approach which incorporates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as a more relational approach, recognizing that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful tool for healing and growth. Through this work, April hopes to help her clients discover that they don't have to compromise their genuine selves to find peace and connection in the world. April looks forward to building a collaborative relationship where you have the opportunity to explore and cultivate your own path towards well-being.
